Welcome to Advocates for Access' Wheel-a-Thon

Team walking along the RiverWalk.

The grand total for last year's event was $45,215.

Team Challenge builds friendly competition.

Congressman Aaron Schock addresses the participants at the event.
Rollin’ on the River is a fundraising and community awareness event organized
by and benefiting Advocates for Access. People with or without a disability
can participate in this event to be held along the beautiful RiverWalk, near Peoria’s RiverPlex. The
Wheel-a-thon scheduled to be held rain or shine on October 8, 2011 will celebrate disability
awareness month.
Team captains organize teams of 2-7 wheelers/walkers, who work together to
raise funds and then share a wheelchair (provided) to navigate a 1-mile course. Teams will
compete against other teams for prizes and awards. Melody said, “Working
together as a team is fun, builds friendly competition, allows you to promote the name of your
business or organization, demonstrates enthusiasm, spirit and passion for the cause, and allows
you to enjoy a beautiful fall morning with friends and family, ending with a lunch and brief
awards ceremony.”
